Scandinavian countries never adopted Christianity because of their religiosity, but because of economic reasons, and the churches of Scandinavia have literally no say in what goes on in the region. Yes, we barely have any oil. Which is why production has been in decline for the past decade. Profits have increased for most of that period because oil has been severely overpriced and importing things has become cheaper thanks to China. And now the cold hard reality is kicking in.
The currency has been devalued significantly. I think Venezuela and Russia are the only one who have experienced a more drastic economic downturn from the collapsing oil price.
I'm sure it will work out. The floating currency will hopefully make our other industries more competitive abroad and domestic production will hopefully increase and in the end I'm sure the country will still continue functioning. But I won't be able to go on vacation abroad for the foreseeable future.
