I'm Polish, for context. I think dating a foreigner would be hard in general, so it's not just about citizenship. Even if differences don't arise in the beginning, they WILL come up. Also, I like the idea of preserving your culture. So, although I like the culture and like them as friends, I don't know if I would go so far as to date one, because I'm not sure how they would fit in with the rest of my family. However, the cultural differences aren't that big, so I won't say that wouldn't consider it.

Well their being the "strong, silent type" is definitely boner-inducing and beyond that definitely part of why I would only ever want them.
But the problem is - and I admittedly am inferring this entirely based on my one single boyfriend - that I am completely blocked since even non-verbal communication is ambiguous, and he changes his mind more often than I change my clothes.

I feel trapped, I drag him behind me every hour of my waking life yet I can't leave him because he is the only thing I treasure. And I never get a glimpse of gratitude or affection, except cuddling in bed and his hands in my hair. I feel like an empty battery, completely depleted of energy. He refuses to acknowledge my problems and depression since I have less than he does, he went through a lot of shit both here and in Russia which I was spared and so he feels legitimate in constantly criticizing him and there is never a single moment I can talk it through because he'll always shut the conversation down and says there are more urgent matters or threaten to go back to Russia or something...
