Congress was basically designed to be useless and never get anything done, that's what's so great about having a federal republic, because the government can basically paralyze itself and not fuck with the public on a daily basis.
Also, I don't think any of that other stuff matters anymore, because the union seems likely to fail in the next few generations anyway, at least from my point of view.
But even so, take heart, because if Trump can actually get into office, I feel like he has a very vast support network in the shadows that want to at least restore constitutional order to a degree, or at least make it less shit, because a lot of things he talks about just happens to come true very shortly, so he definitely has connections high up feeding him information, and he seems like the kind of guy who would have a 25 year plan for America that goes beyond his presidency, so I think he has a lot of tricks and alliances up his sleeve to actually fix shit.
I mean, Cruz was never in a position to win the presidency, but I guarantee he's going to be Trump's pick for the supreme court, and he's as staunch a constitutional conservative as you can get, aside from the Pauls, so I think we're in the lull before the pendulum swings back right now, and no doubt it will swing back extremely hard, and it looks as if it's going to do so globally, so just hope that we have enough people to steer it in the right direction, and I'm actually hopeful that this is the case, especially if Trump can smash the Democrats and steal a large enough chunk of their party to make the Republicans the new national party for the next however long, which could be all we need to get things back into order.
