Tricky question, I definitely don't see myself as part of the Portuguese nationstate. My roots certainly are Portuguese, and I still speak the language with my family and follow quite a lot of stuff from there (to the point that I'm literally drinking Compal juice right now), but I would probably consider myself both Belgian and Portuguese due tu the fact that my actual home is here, where I grew up and where my social community is. I have a mentality quite different from people living in Barbosaland and I don't have many connections either. Also despite the memes Belgians generally really like their country and their culture is extremely participative, making integration a lot more easier for foreigners compared to other countries.
tl;dr yes and no, it depends on your definition of Portuguese. I will spend a semester in Coimbra next year, and I think I'll see myself more as a foreigner there than here.
