I see this a lot, actually. I live in a neighborhood outside of Stockholm where crime is relatively rampant, but rarely do I see anything in the papers. Late last year I heard several gunshots, police showed up in vans and helicopters, but I couldn't find anything in the papers the following days. Fights break out regularly around the little square and by the school and broken storefronts are a pretty common site. People are starting to avoid going out at night. The police have pretty much left by now and it is being ignored by both the press and the politicians.
I realize that the crime rate is still low compared to many, many areas in other countries, but this rise has been sudden and is seemingly not being met head-on, but by turning a blind eye, which is actually kind of frightening.
And yes, I'm one of the very few full-on swedes still living here, and I suspect that has everything to do with why it isn't even being reported.

I lived in Sweden for work purposes for a month last year. I can confirm how fucking doomed they are.
I would see more immigrants than actual swedes most of the time. A lot of girls told me they're scared to walk alone in the streets now. A lot of white swedes weren't even 100% Swedish either, a lot of them had one or both parents from another part of Europe.
I really don't understand what their problem is. A lot of them are just oblivious to the issue and love immigrants, others aren't, I think. Sometimes I would get the idea that they're racist and/or conscious of what is going on but then they would contradict themselves saying how sorry they felt for immigrants or whatever. It's like they don't even know what to think or they're just too scared.
