Any of you guys know about dual citizenship? My father was born in Britain but I was born and raised in America. Do I have claim to British citizenship and if so how do I go about getting a UK Passport?

Nope, nothing even close to eligible.
>>
>>53320999
This >>53320449 says otherwise.

You didn't check his trips though
>>
>>53321040
Depends when you were born. Anyway, we already have to many immigrants and the last thing we need over here is more coming. Especially yanks.
>>

>Especially yanks.

You just made that up because you sometimes get annoyed by American internet posts on a Balinese truffle shuffle emporium

I still have family in England that's lived there for centuries. My dad's the only one to have left.
>>
>>53321170
Please tell me something that America / Americans have done right in the last 30 years?
There is nothing good about them.
>>
>>53321262
Having family in a country doesn't mean you automatically have the same privilege to live there as well. And the fact you weren't even born here makes it harder for you to even try and gain citizenship.
>>
He left for a reason

The only use for British citizenship is so you can come to eastern europe
>>
>>53321439
Yeah it does fuck you I'm getting a English qt.

Are you illegitimate?
>>
>>53326005
No.
>>
>>53320387
Have quad citizenship with NZ/Aus/Ireland/UK lol
>>
>>53326047
You might be a British citizen ‘by descent’ ... but your own children won’t automatically become British citizens.
>>
>>53326290
That's what the site has been telling me. It just sucks that I have to pay like 200 bucks to even find out if I'm eligible for a passport.
>>
>>53326047
When you were born, was one of your parents a British citizen in Crown service, designated service or service of a European Community (EC) institution?
>>
>>53326566

>>53325493 and no.
>>
>>53326601
Are you you’re of good character?
>>
>>53326786
Never had problems with the law.
>>
>>53326819
What are your intentions?
>>
>>53326931
My father wanted me to have it and he passed away before we could get it done. I guess it's mostly like a sentimental thing. Also if I ever moved to another country it'd be England so why not have it?
>>
>>53327073
You may be eligible to ‘register’ as one.

Registration fees
Application Cost
Each adult £913

You must pay the fee in full when you send in your application. No refunds.
>>
>>53327349
What confuses me is that one the site is says that in my case I'd automatically be a citizen. So do I request citizen confirmation or do I have to register?
>>
>>53327482
You don't live in a qualifying territory. £913 to find out. Do you know the Home Secretary?
>>
>>53327950
I do not.
>>
>>53327482
Depending on where you live you could always pop into the local embassy and see if you can have a chat with someone.

>>53329344
>>53324890 >... fuck you I'm getting a English qt.
>>53326415 > It just sucks that I have to pay like 200 bucks to even ...
>>53327073 >My boo-hoo and boo-hoo .. sentimental ... Also if I ever wanted free healthcare why not have it?

Home Secretary's discretion.

Please, ma'am. I'll save the Queen.
>>

>>53331006
You gotta pinkie promise you'll approve the application.

Wait. My grandmother was born in Northern Ireland before it became part of the UK. Does that mean I can be a US/UK/Irish citizen?
