Sankt Peterburg is nice, it was named Europe's best tourist destination of 2015, don't forget to visit Peterhof too, many posters on /trv/ just seem stick to aimlessly browsing the centre.
Moscow is pretty rubbish, unless you have a really tight and well thought of schedule of where to visit and what to see.
Japanese people seem to like the Ice cream domes of St.Basil, right?
If you gonna go there, remember that it's a functioning place of worship, so don't wear like a heavy metal t-shirt or something, monks there aren't shy of not letting people in because of how they're dressed, I've heard.
