Depends on the region
>>
All the European immigrant accents merged into a bastardised English

Midwestern accent is english combined with scaninavian and german, south is from the relatively early english settlers, east coast states are a toss up, west is mexican

This for the most part. Really deppends on the area. In my state alone there are about 3 different accents.

The western side has a heavy Scottish and Irish influence on it with German traits added in. Also adopted a lot of Polish words.

I read a Bill Bryson book that said the basic American accent was already a thing in small English towns, and they emigrated to America. The differing regional accents then developed over time

That's not an RP American accent. That's a midatlantic accent that he had from the fact he lived in England as a boy
>>
Dutch people from Leiden sound very American.

People from Amsterdam can sound a bit like New York.

Isn't that dependent on how they learn English?

I've met a good many Indians that have (or try to have) a British accent, but that is how they learned English. Then I've met Germans that are very fluent in English and speak English more like how Americans do.

I don't know the orginal of the words, but we had a massive immigration of Poles that came for work in the steel mills and a lot of Polish foods and words (again idk the orginal of the words) ended up becoming a norm in the area.

Native Americans IMO
When you hear them speak English it sounds like us except harder, ours is soft because it's still part British.
