It's understandable if people use a mix between daily language and a dialect but not at all when they only speak in their dialect.
The southern German dialects and also the official language of the Alsace are based on the language Alemannisch.

The ick is typical for northern dialects, so I'll assume that this is somewhat close to Plattdeutsch.
The alas gaut is equal to alles gut which is just conversational language and not part of a particular dialect here.
It was hard to understand because they speak fast and I only grasped that they were talking about the importance of learning such a dialect. And something about writing it but I didn't really get that.
Should be easier to understand for a nothern German, I'm from the very South.
And lmao, at the beginning I thought they were speaking Portuguese because it was pretty fast and the pronunciation sounded a bit like it but as I noticed that I didn't understand it, I realised that it isn't Portuguese.

Lel that's interesting. Before i started learning German i had no idea that the dialects differ this much from one another, i thought it was all the same. I don't properly understand all the differences between the dialects yet but i find it interesting how they sound so different, it seems to be like the difference between brazilian Portuguese and european Portuguese but in the same country.
When my German is good enough i'll try to learn this Pomeranian dialect, it's quite fascinating

Yep, my greatgrandparents came from Germany and like 30% of my city speaks German, although it's not the Pomeranian dialect (i'm not sure which one it is). That one is spoken in 3 neighbouring cities iirc

Hmm, I wouldn't bother with learning much about the dialects. It's rather useless since if you moved there you'd only have to get used to one certain dialect or none at all. And everyone can communicate im standard German. I don't speak amy dialect because I grew up with standard German but people around my area speak dialect (which I figured out at the age of 12 lmao). Since then I adapted a bit to it but can't speak it.
Learning a dialect would be hard because only natives will fully be able to speak it, but if you can find any material/books for that Pomeranian dialect, go for it.

My state (Espírito Santo aka Holy Spirit) is basically a mix of those two. In the coast there are maaaany pardos and blacks, and here in the interior it's mostly white, with descendants from german and italian immigrants.
Btw, did you go to Salvador in Bahia? Did you like it there? I only went to the south of Bahia in Porto Seguro and it was pretty amazing. The niggers there weren't like the ones in Rio (dirty favelados and such), they were very friendly and open.

I'm actually half Hue and that's why I've been there. I was in Slavador da Bahia only for two days because of the airport though I can agree with you, the people there can be quite decent from what I've seen. Been at a cheap hotel there and nothing happened at all and the breakfast was actually pretty awesome.
