What's the least relevant -stan countries?
>>
Obviously Tajikistan.
>>
>>52987116

I would say Kirgyzstan. Tajikistan had based Shah Massoud (though he was more related to Afghanistan).
>>
>>52987395
The fact that Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are involved in an incestuous border swirl in the middle suggests that none of these countries are very consequential.
>>
>>52987453
>are involved in an incestuous border swirl in the middle

Russians were most likely drunk when drawing those borders
>>
>>52987532
It was actually intentional, they wanted to disrupt traditional tribal boundaries so they wouldn't effectively rebel against Moscow.

That being said they are important on paper, but have no real likelihood of ever being critical markets or audiences since they are playgrounds for a few despots.
>>
Kyrgystan
>>
Kyrgyzstan by far.

Kyrgyzstan was on vice before it went to shit though

They're all irrelevant except Kazakhstan

This.

It's the second, actually
The First in Irrelevancy is Turkmenistan
>>
>>52989864
>kazakhstan
>relevant
If it werent for borat no one would no about it, for its size its incredibly irrelevant
>>
>>52987395
The Tajiks in Afghanistan and the Tajiks in Tajikistan are pretty different

They speak different dialects of Persian and Tajikistan uses Cyrillic

Tajiks in Afghanistan don't identify themselves with Tajikistan

I know russian cosmonauts land there.
Also they have this 180cm tall qt3.14
>>
>>52989948
Do you know why they're called Tajiks? Quite weird.

What about Uzbeks and Turkmens in Afghanistan?
>>

No one knows about her outside 4chan

You sure mate?

By order of relevance.

Kazakhstan > Uzbekistan >Turkmenistan > Tajikstan > Kyrgyzstan

last three aren't too far off from each other.
>>
>>52989943
Oil, Caspian shore, size and Baikonur make it pretty relevant, as far as -stan countries go

Kazakhs are not so bad. After all, Kazakhstan is where an American goes if he/she wants to get to space
>>
>>52990018
What's her name?
>>
>>52989943
Without Kazakhstan your space program would end 3 years ago, senpai.
It's much more developed than shitholestans, you can't even put it on the same level as them.
>>
>>52990052
She was in international news and even got a contract to play in a japanese volleyball club.
>>52990112
Sabina Altynbekova
>>
>>52990094
>>52990149
My friends uncle actually went to space but he went to russia for it not kazakhstan
>>
>>52990045
Tajik means Persian

Same thing with Uzbeks and Turkmens

They don't identify with Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan

There are more Tajiks in Afghanistan than Tajikistan

There are more Pashtuns in Pakistan than Afghanistan

The borders are all fucked up
>>
>>52990217
And where did he land?
>>
Kazakhstan is somewhat relevant because it's a huge provider of natural ressources and it's a close ally of Russia.

Uzbekistan is somewhat relevant only because it has a huge population.

Tajikistan is somewhat relevant because, much like Afghanistan, they had crazy tribal islamist civil warfare going on in the 90's.

Turkmenistan is somewhat relevant because of how it's an example of one of the most repressive dictatorships in the world, on par with North Korea.

Kyrgyzstan's only possible claim to relevency is the revolutions they've had (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_Revolution and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyrgyz_Revolution_of_2010), other than that they have absolutely nothing. And unlike, say, Turkmenistan, they don't even have any natural ressources, they're quite poor. Also, they're heavily russified.

tl;dr Kyrgyzstan
>>
>>52990247
Kyrgyz had empires as a part of the Mongols

then he probably went for a krokodil high or a flight on a mig-31

because all manned flights that don't start from China start from Kazakhstan

that makes Kazakhstan the Western hemisphere's only real spaceport
>>
>>52990244
I have no clue

>>52990326
He did not go recently, he went maybe around a decade or so back
>>
>>52990298
if you're going to go full "muh ancient empires" then Kyrgyzstan still has absolutely nothing on the others.

The Kazakhs had the Golden Horde which was a huge power back in the day
The Turkmens were the very first "Sword of Islam" and converted a ton of people
The Uzbeks have Timur, which suffice to say is pretty historically relevant. Also, if you enjoy historical tourism, Uzbekistan is probably the best Central Asianc country to visit.
The Tajiks are literally Persians so let's not even go there.

Compared to that, the various Kyrgyz Sino-Mongol client states are not all too impressive.
>>
>>52990217
Russia operates Baikonur, it's even leased with a contract.
But building, maintaining and utilizing it obviously won't be possible without Kazakhstan. Imagine if it was Ukraine where USSR built a cosmodrome. All worlds space programs would be 20 years behind.
>>
>>52990506

>The Turkmens were the very first "Sword of Islam"

Que?
>>
>>52990549
The Turkmens were converted quite early, in the 8th century IIRC. And they ended up taking control of the Seljuks and breaking through to Anatolia.
>>
>>52990691

True, but why would they be the first Sword of Islam?

I reckon the Arabs led by a commander literally called the Sword of Islam by Muhammad would have that "honor".
>>
>>52990771
>>52990691

Nevermind, Khalid was called the Sword of Allah
>>
>>52990771
fair enough, the word "first" isn't correct

But, beyond the initial Arab conquests, Turkmens were the first non-Arab people to be so (or at least, one of the first, it's possible that I'm forgetting some).

then it was a flight on a mig, popular in the 90es
they still do it, much more expensive though
>>
>>52989943
It's the most relevant in all the stan at least.
