That's not self-evident from your original comment, and it's not really what GoT's about anyway. Yeah, innocent/important people die, but plenty of anime do that anyway. I can think of Gantz and Blood+ to name a couple. There's no clear distinction in GoT of who's a good guy and who's a bad guy. The characters are interesting because they're a mix of good and bad qualities, and when they die, it's important in the context of the story. Gantz is probably a better comparison to GoT, but anime writing in general is kind of flat.
