Tons of national parks. Pretty unique wildlife. There is one forest that produces pinecones as big as your head.

Because Portland doesn't have any places that are nationally known really. Just pick up a tour book for the city and it'll tell you where to go.

Portland isn't like New York or San Francisco or Los Angeles that have a bunch of globally recognized things to see.
