What I'm about to say is very controversial and unpopular to say in the Faroe Islands, but whaling sucks. The meat is poisonous and doesn't even taste that good (maybe except if prepared as a Grindabúffur). It's a lot of work (took me about 12 hours in total last time) and the Sea Shepherd talk is unbearable the following 2 months. Whaling arose as a necessity because the population was starving in the 16th century. It's sad to let traditions die, but everything has its time.

Also, contributing to the thread. Pic related (although it turned out with shitty quality) was when I was briefly lost in the Icelandic highlands this summer at a few minutes past midnight.
Somehow, I managed drove right past Gullfoss and get lost for a few hours. Probably the most desolate and memorable part of my visit to the country, indescribably unique and beautiful.
