In Western European medieval warfare ? Not really.
I'm not one of those that say that medieval warfare was ritual warfare between nobles, but you have to admit that up until battles like Crécy and Agincourt, it was mostly knights killing peasants, then either capturing knights or getting captured by knights. The focus on infantry, the mass use of longbows, the lack of mercy towards surrendering nights, all that was new. And of course the start of the use artillery.
The English pretty much started modern warfare and killed chivalry. Of course it came as a shock to everybody.
