RENAMO hasn't pulled anything big for a couple years. They still rattle their sabers, but all of that's pretty localised to Sofala though.
A lot of the mining jobs are pretty far into the wasteland, but I think most of the people live in cities and head out for a week or so at a time.

I'm getting a bachelor's degree in international management in april, and I speak all the colonial languages of Africa. I would consider moving there, but probably not in mozambique again. It was a blast but when I was there but in hindsight there's a lot of fucked up shit.
I remember how these albino kids were always walking around like loners. And they had weird red blotches all over them. I clued in later that those red blotches were from AIDS.. I mean what the fuck were they doing to them? fuck!

If you're thinking Africa I'd keep it on your radar. Moz is on it's way up, assuming the Chinese economy dosen't tank (and all of their invesments here don't dry up with it) in the next few years.
One of the provinces has a genetic predispisotion for albinism. The discrimination those guys get isn't quite as bad as a few other countries, but it's still one of the grislier parts of this place.
