What are you trying to do ?
You can't compare USA or even some British schools wtih european schools.
USA ones are very rich because of massive registration fees. So they can have the best scientists, teachers and equipements. They also have a strong and prestigious network of former students who regulary make advertisings and donations. Finally USA universities have strong link with big companies.
On the european side, universities are almost fully funded by the state and are free. So teacher salaries are not very interesting, the equipement generaly come from old stuff from companies and beside Grande Écoles they don't have any "esprit de corps" with students.
That's why those kind of ranking are stupids and maybe european schools are not the best but at least european students aren't indebted for decades.
