No I wasn't talking about cartoons.
I was talking about your entire entertainment media.
Has anyone wondered what Chinese TV is like? It's going to be interesting when their media companies begin buying out Western TV stations and they start forcing their programming on us when they decide they want soft power to accompany their growing military
Eh, Luxembourg owns most of our tv stations.

You say that because you're in the US. In most non-English talking countries there's a fair number of artists, cartoons or whatever you want to define as media that's extremely popular nationally but unknown to the other countries. There are some exceptions, of course. Mainly you could say that it's easier for an artist or product to become popular worldwide when it's from english-speaking countries or when it's based in english, for example the only worldwide italian hit in the last 20 years was Blue by Eiffel 65 which is in english, while other songs by the same group which are as catchy but are in italian aren't as popular.
