Ayy lmaos landed here in the 40s, first atom bomb was developed here, rich ass history, substantial native american population, specific native and hispanic cultures that nobody cares about or knows about and are thus ignored by the rest of the world, hispanic population isn't majority mexican but nobody knows that, government corruption, recent drug problems, sanctuary cities, rich white people like to gentrify, very variable landscape, perfects outdoors for camping/fishing/hiking/etc., best food on planet, everything south and west of Santa Fe that isn't outdoors sucks ass, not only a desert

I went to high school in southern New Mexico. Quite a shit hole desu. I miss it so much though. Mainstream culture there consists of Whites, Hispanics and White hispanics that enjoy cowboy culture , rodeos etc. Albuquerque is a shit tier city in most respects but is not terrible. LOTS of drugs, and addicts, hence lots of homeless people. Capital city, Santa Fe is in Northern New Mexico, has a sort of weird hippie subculture that is very pervasive.
Other than that: Aliens, Meth, and a Big beautiful sky
