I didn't even watch the liveleak thing, but I grew numb with murder.
My city has a lot of murders, but they all happen in the same horrible neighborhoods and barely make the news except for a number like "12 killed in drug violence", if someone gets murdered in the central part of the city or one of the good neighborhoods, it comes a big news story, since it's uncommon.

It's usually a commotion. Like when the girl on my pic died a dozen years ago in my neighborhood. Since them can't remember any homicide, maybe some scum shot by the police, but they don't make news.

The murder rates here are overdramatized.
According to the latest statistics we have an intentional homicide rate of 25 per 100k inhabitants, with the US at 6 per 100k. This data is now 3 years old.
The problem is that they don't discriminate the motive for the killings. This year in my town alone we had over 110 murders. Over 80% of the victims had ties with drug trafficking. The rest were spread amongst passion crimes, revenge killing, family disputes, and a few are still under investigation. Of all of those, only 2 were the result of a robbery/mugging.
Yeah it's a fucked up country, but it's actually hard to get shot if you're not selling or buying drugs.

You just have to ID the victim and check their police record. Those 80% refer to how many cases had victims with drug dealing in their records. So in reality the number of homicides unrelated to drug trafficking might be even lower.
