OK. I perfectly respect that. I was simply responding to the 'been on the moon', which says nothing about boots or humans.
There are some people who will argue with you that the USSR landed succesfully on Mars. But I am not one of them.

You know enough to give yourself an ego boost, but not enough to really help out.
This is the way it is today, but it has not always been so. There was a time when the US space program delt in Nautical miles and such. It was not until there was a spacecraft lost because of pathetic unit mix ups that there was a really serious focus in NASA on using the Metric system.

My HS actually asked us to always use the metric system. It's becoming used less and less even in America.
