However, say the two countries were side-by-side and bordered each other, I'd put my money on Israel being the victors. Their air force is vastly superior and their army isn't too far behind either (though they lack manpower, they have a shitload more armour).

Iran's got like 55 million people of military age, while Israel's got 5.2 million, and probably even less when you consider the resisting Arab population. Let's assume that Israel's got like 230 nukes (I just averaged the Wikipedia estimate range). Now, I can't find anything about their yield in kT after a few minutes of searching and I'm not down to spend the morning doing so. I'm just going to assume they're mostly smaller capability nukes they attained during the late 60s/early 70s, so maybe around 200 kT? Using nukemaps (lel), and playing around with some of the advanced settings to make it more destructive, fucking up the Tehran province and the other large cities still leaves quite a bit of a population. So it's a matter of how fast Iran can either evacuate, or send all its troops to Israel.
The real winner of a Iran-Israel war are the Balochis in Sistan and Baluchestan since they're totally irrelevant.

You don't realize how expensive modern equipment is. For example, maintanance of an Arbrams is approximately twice as expensive than that of Merkava4. Without going into details, as a tank mechanic I can say that the tanks in IDF aren't at their 100%. I had to wait months before certain spare parts would arrive. Now, Egypt got about 500 tanks more than Israel, while their military bugdet is half as much that of an IDF. Draw the conclusions in what condition most these tanks probably are.
That that's only the equipment part. The training is a whole world by itself, where Egypt is far off from shining.
