Russian submarine B-871 Alrosa is an diesel-electric Kilo-class submarine that joined the Soviet Fleet in 1990 and is active with the Russian Black Sea Fleet as of 2011.
Instead of a conventional propeller Alrosa uses a pump jet propulsion system.
nice shot :DDD

>I-19 was a Japanese Type B1 submarine which damaged and destroyed several enemy ships during World War II while serving in the Imperial Japanese Navy. During the Guadalcanal campaign, with a single torpedo salvo, the submarine sank the aircraft carrier USS Wasp and the destroyer USS O'Brien, and damaged the battleship USS North Carolina.

It also has room for smoking with ventilation. I was surprised it's allowed to smoke on a submarine.
Sailors are given red wine every day too. Russian doctors believes it helps from radiation.

My uncle served on typhoon class in 80's. He dreamed to become fighter pilot but failed some medical test(he says he had flu when he passed it).
So he studied in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sevastopol_National_University_of_Nuclear_Energy_and_Industry and then went north to serve on a submarine.
They paid very well to them. Plus he was technically aboard while sailing so he was paid in foreign currency checks for which you could buy imported goods not avialable to most soviet citizens. But his family had to live in far north where it's 1 hour of sunlight in winter and climate is harsh..

To be fair, you could scrap all the F18s as they are fricking useless against modern multirole jet fighters
