Afaik, to qualify for the visa waiver program, nationals of that country mustn't have a visa refusal rate of more than 3%. Poles apparently attempt to illegally immigrate to the States a lot, so the rate of refusal is higher than that 3%. Thus no visa waiver for you.

Iraq and Syria are warzones and Sudan is a shithole. However Iran received millions of tourists a year and with the lifting of sanctions it's projecting to quadruple its tourism. On top of that Iran has been housing hundreds of business delegations from dozens of countries.
