I have literally, unironically met up with half a dozen other strangers I have met from posting here on /int/ from multiple countries, and each interaction I had with each person was an entirely positive and memorable experience. All of them were great people and I'd hang out with any of them again. A couple of them I talked to beforehand, others I asked on their general if anyone wants to meet a traveler and they replied.
It's only weird if you make it weird. I'd encourage any of you others to do it too.
