I like Serbian and Makedonian films.

Neprijatelj is my all-around favorite.

For history, I like them all, but Bosnia has the most fascinating history, pre-Ottoman anyway.
>>
>>52177393

Food - Serbia
Literature - Nothing
Women - Bosnia 2bh
Beer - Same
Films - Serbs are the best at this, all the classics are theirs
Language - Croat
History - I like mine best for slaying byzantines, we also have ancient greek leftovers
Banter - Slovenia
>>
>>52178685
Also Bosnian way of speaking Serbo-Croatian is the most melodical.

>Serbian literature is better than Croatia
These people literally didn't have two cents before Karadžić. Goat fucking-kanun abiding while we were pushing Renaissance and Humanism buttons. The people wo pushed the Shtokavian standards and wrote amazing literature for it were Croats, and the sole Serbian winner of the Nobel prize was also an ethnic Croat, if they can claim Tesla on ethnicity, there goes Andrić on ethnicity too

Fucking Serbs
>>

That's medieval common law right? Like Albos still cling to, with blood feuds and honor killings?
>>

Ijekavian Latin, the gentleman's choice

>>52179693
Ottoman law

There's literally who? Karadžić, Jakšić, Obradović and Venclović? Most of them coming up at the height of nationalism, when there is a need for mass education

Držić, Hektorović, Zoranić, Marulić, Gundulić, Menčetić, Zrinski, Karnarutić Lucić - 15th and 16th century Croats who were published in Europe. They helped codify Balkan songs and stories into proper language worthy of passing and reading. These fucking ungrateful Serbs. We popularized your peasant speak for solidarity and even cleaned it up from Turkish loanwords. We had drama, poetry, painters, lawmakers and diplomats directly employed by the Austrian archdukes and the pope himself, while you sat your hairy asses on divans all day ćućuking or whatever you Janissaries did

Why do you keep saying Slovenia for language, I don't get it, and to be honest I find it very complicated and extremely tedious to learn, what is so cute about it?

Oh, and we have like a million dialects that sound like different languages to others.

Back then Bosnians didn't exist, Tvrtko called himself king of Serbs, Bosnia, (insert a bunch of small regions), and Croats.
Bogomils were first exiled from Bulgaria, then exiled from Rascia (Serbia), and made their way to Bosnia.

Profesionalac is top tier, a politics never changes sort of film
Zikina dinastija, it's actually a long series of films.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foolish_Years
Cetvrti covek
Crna macka beli macor (another Kusturica film about gypsies)
Maratonci trce pocasni krug
Vir (very heavy on the ptsd)
Sisanje (skinning, a very edgy film about neo nazism, it's shit, but worth a mention)
>>52185528
Yes, watch it!
>>52185580
2nd one also get's a pass, don't watch the 3rd one.
>>
>>52185433
Adding
Pad u raj
3 palme za 2 bitange i ribicu
Tito i ja (i call it chronicles of a fat kid)
Mars na drinu

And then you have the plethora of partisan films in mixed production made with actors from all former nations, and often with hollywood stars as well, they're all good war flicks with good action, although they're very communist leaning (go figure, border line propaganda)

Well, the bogomils re actually more of joined Balkan history, as they came from Bulgaria but their founder pop Bogomil (pop Jeremia) got his ideas from Paulikian Armenians and started preaching in Makedonia (Dragovitsan church).

Amongst the Serbian population the 'heresy' never had big following, but it did amongst the Serbian nobility. It was in fact a Serbian princess who introduced it to the Bosnian banate. This was after in 1150 Byzantine emperor Manuel divided the lands of Radoslav of Dioclea between the Zavida family and Stefan Nemanya.Stefan's brother Miroslav obtained Hum (Herzegovinà) and the province of Bosnia in the north got ruled by a more or less independent ban after emperor Manuel's death in 1180.

There was a constant strugglle then between the Vatican (kign of Hungary) and the Byzantine Orthodox emperor over influence in Bosnia and Hum. As the bogomils were already settled there after fleeing Bulgaria, both Miroslav and ban Kulin thought it wise to support them. Stefan didn't quite agree and exiled the Serbian exiles, who proceeded to settle in Kulin's Bosnia.

There is a lot more to tell of course. I agree that today's muslims in B-H are the descendants of the bogomils, and the fact that they are not orthodox sunnis but rather sufis is also unusual. But I do not agree with the nationalist fairy-tale that "bogomil beliefs resembled islam" (complete nonsense) nor "that Bosnians peacefully and willingly invited the Turks and converted" (they made the noblemen sons janissaries and used their usual treachery to force islam upon them, they were the weakest group as they were considered heretics by the Orthodox and especially the Roman Chirch)

>Crna macka beli macor
>Tito i ja

I forgot to mention these two, they are already in my collection.

I like Kusturica, but Tito i ja was very enjoyable as well. Lazar Ristovski is a top class actor.

Other fav ex-yu actors of mine are Nikola Kojo and the late Bata Stojković.

All very talented actors of whom I'd like to see more.
