>A toast sandwich is a sandwich made by putting a thin slice of toast between two thin slices of bread
I had to read this a couple of times before I realized I read it didn't misread it.
>>52140348
its a 200 year old poverty food that literally nobody eats

>>52139217
English delusion.

Tell me about fish and chips. Do the carts that sell them have at least ketchup or mayo or sauces to put on them?
>>52140488
the wikipedia article even calls it a forgotten food
>>52140512
you buy fish and chips from a shop usually. and yes, they have sauces. nobody eats mayo with it though
>>52140004
>>52140512
There aren't carts that sell them, there are small cafes that sell it and similar foods
You can get salt and chipshop sauce, which is a sort of thinner brown sauce. I suppose you could get other sauces if you asked. but why would you?
>>52140553
>forgotten food
The fact that is the largest island within the British isles.
>So what exactly is great about "Great" Britain
It's larger in size than Brittany is the literal reason.
I assume you know this and are just trolling though.

that's basically just a normal sandwich with a filling the only difference is a thin slice of toast. and it's only been served there because it's a pretentious restaurant owned by a TV chef
>>52140653
>why would you?
Because we use a lot of sauces and what not to enhance our food. The thing about Brit cuisine is that it doesn't look inherently bad, it just looks very bland.
This is a taco fish, for example.

Nothing
The term was coined by their French overlords in middle age
The French term was "Grande Bretagne" which meant "larger Brittany", but the retards translated it as "great"
Lmao

I have never eaten a toast sandwich, and I have never met anyone else who, to my knowledge, has eaten one. I didn't know it was a thing. Most Brits wouldn't know what it is either.
>>52140512
You go to a fish and chip shop (a.k.a, a chippy). Yeah they sell sachets of ketchup but usually you take fish and chips home and just use your own ketchup.
>>52140653
You could definitely have tartare sauce mate. I don't often have it but it is a right treat with fish.
I stayed in the UK for a while and the food is not nearly as bad as it is famous for.
That HP brown sauce is nasty though, and was surprised to see that the deep fried mars is really a thing in Scotland, I thought you were just memeing
>>52142746
Brown sauce is great in my opinion.
Also yeah, in Scotland they love deep frying things, they deep fry pizza and other stuff too. Scotland is pretty famous for being unhealthy. In England we just stick to the fish and chips, maybe jumbo battered sausage and chips, etc.
>>52140977
Actually bri'ish cuisine uses a lot of very potent sauces such as Worcestershire sauce, chemical enhanced gravies, vinegar, HP sauce, coronation sauce (vomits internally), curries etc.
I always understood it as a way of disguising badly prepared food or simply lower quality base ingredients. Decent cuisines like Greek, lebo, Turkish etc tend rather to use lighter sauces that enhance the flavour of the actual ingredients themselves.
>>52143081
Are you telling me you don't like coronation chicken mate? Wash your mouth out with soap my son.
Also curry isn't really British is it mate. We've adopted it but it's not from here.
>>52143081
lol that looks more middle eastern than british
>>52140977
i've had fish and chip tacos before. shit was fucking great, but also weird at the same time
>>52143284
>Are you telling me you don't like coronation chicken mate?
I'm not a fussy eater m8, but this is simply horrid. There is a reason this didnt catch on in NZ despite the fact a lot of other English dishes did.
>We've adopted it but it's not from here.
Heavier/creamier curry sauces like tikka masala are British.
>>52143428
Did you even read my post m8 ?
>>52139217
Its history of course. Britain dominated the 19th century just as you dominated the 20th century.
