The thing is, there are two phenotypes of ear wax. Dry ear wax and wet ear wax. People of East Asian descent have dry wax in almost 100% of cases, while this is rare in Europe. It also affects bodily odor (the gene in question, not the wax) which is why Asians don't have a scent as strong as Caucasians. People with dry wax can peel it out, while we are used to just flushing it out under the shower. Now google this stuff cause I am not bullshitting you.
