It's absolutely disgusting and I never understood it. Sure, most of Europe has its binge drinkers, and in some places it's quite common. But the things I see on any given Friday night in the UK (at least the cities I have lived in) is just disgusting. People lying in a pool of their own vomit, still dressed in their suits, women on 12 inch stilettos stumbling around, talking and cursing around like sailors, all heavily drunk. No one is fucking enjoying themselves, they're all absolutely miserable. From my times in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, I'm used to people drinking alcohol to get them going a bit, drink some wine or champagne, then go out into the city and have a fun time out, sitting beside the museums, listening to the street musician play smooth jazz and reminisce about the olden days.
But here? Everyone is miserable and self-hating. It's absolutely fucking disgusting. Night life in the UK is not enjoyable at all.

Most people here have it right. For the most part they're pretty plain, drink a lot, and don't have a lot of hobbies beyond socialising and being glued to their phones. Occasionally you'll get a really beautiful 'English rose' (probably from the south, let's be honest) , but they're very rare - probably less than 1% of the population.

Among certain women, sure, but I've heard stories of guys going to brothels in groups, girlfriends hiring escorts for their boyfriend's birthday etc. The cocaine and prostitute thing seems to be far more accepted among the upper classes. I used to hang out with a bunch of old Etonians, and they were all into it, as if both were a normal part of the average night out. Clubbing in Chelsea/Fulham, meet a dealer for some coke, and then call an escort/head to a brothel.
