Germany is the only country where all the large urban centres are disgraceful modern architecture and commieblocks, and just beyond are immensly beautiful medium-small cities and towns [Iin Canada we have the former, but the latter is nearly non-existent].
It just makes you think about how much gorgeous heritage Germany lost because of Hitler and the Nazis. It's such a shame though. They deserved the fire bombing, but at the same time it's like firebombing Florence or Vienna, except with every sizable urban area in a country.
