At 7.25/hr your net income for the average wage slave is around $900/month and that's assuming they can get full time work. The average rent in most cities that aren't hell om earth are normally $1200+ in areas you won't get shot in (thanks, NRA). The only way you could afford a place is if you get a roomate (400-600) after that you still have to have to have enough money for food and your car (because public transit is simply non-existant in most areas, thanks GM) and of course health insurance. You simply cannot live on min wage in America and most jobs being created these days are min wage jobs. Life here sucks man just admit it.

the great lakes in general are a pretty great place to live (wisconsin, michigan if you ignore detroit) and minnesota as they have good scenery, plenty to do, aren't completely overrun with minorities and isn't expensive to live in

There's 1 city per province, not counting the prairies, where unless you're doing construction, mining, or oil you're probably going to have to live in or commute to for work. Economic planning in canada goes like this:
