Usually I have 2 plates with fish(pickled herring, caloriebomb desu), smoked salmon, loads of potato and different sauces.
Then two plates of meat and more potatoes and sauce. As a side is eaten several sandwiches with lots of butter, ham and mustard.
Then afterwards it's candy time.
My extended family gets together on Christmas eve, we usually have ham and some other side dishes. But on Christmas day I go over to my parents and they usually make turkey with all the fixings.

Apparently for centuries people used to burn a huge log in their chimney during Christmas, big enough to last several days from Christmas to the New Year. The log is blessed and in some regions they poured wine on it for good harvests, or salt against witches etc. They also kept the ashes and use them to fertilize the fileds afterwards.
