You can do a one-year Master's or a college or language school and find work in the meantime if you have skills an employer would want. Yeah, having family members there definitely helps, but it's best to have a reason to acquire permanent residency. If you're a skilled worker like an engineer, then all you really need to do is find a job there, have a company sponsor you, and you'll have your HB-1. Having sisters there is great, because you will be more likely able to stay on a more temporary visa, then apply for a more permanent one within the country, which makes you look better. Plus Canada pretty much lets in all European immigrants with a semblance of skills t b h. Education visa is by far the easiest way to do it, though. I've heard Kitchner's a nice but boring place. Fair enough, but you're disregarding the fact that physical reading is a lot more helpful for some people in terms of absorbing what they read, that some physical books have a lot of sentimental value to avid readers, and that some rare books are impossible to find online or in a certain edition. Plus the experience of reading a book vs a screen is very different. Neither experience is inherently better or worse. They both have their positives and negatives and serve different purposes.

All I wanted was to make you realize that you shouldn't be so radical, generalizing and dismissive in the way you think. Again, you're ignoring the point of why people keep books. Yeah, there are idiot hipsters who do it to seem cool, but people who actually work with manuscripts professionally or as a hobby use physical books for a reason. If you're studying a single manuscript closely, there's no reason to carry something that holds thousands of books in it anyway, and the manuscript is going to be lighter than the kindle or whatever. Without even re-mentioning the other benefits.
