Herodotus doesn't even mention the Persian losses after the battle having any effect. Persians continued to sacking and burning Athens and sailed away, what was their plan all along.
Think again if you want to compare these two battles. Not to talk about why Persians sailed to Greece in the first place.

>(...)Soon the castle, the last stronghold within Szigetvár, was set ablaze and cinders fell into the apartments of the count.[4]

>The Ottoman army swarmed through the city, drumming and yelling. Zrinski prepared for a last charge addressing his troops: ...Let us go out from this burning place into the open and stand up to our enemies. Who dies – he will be with God. Who dies not – his name will be honoured. I will go first, and what I do, you do. And God is my witness – I will never leave you, my brothers and knights!...

>Before leading the final sortie by the castle garrison, Zrinski ordered a fuse be lit to the powder magazine.[4][Note 8] After cutting down the last of the defenders the besiegers poured into the fortress. The Ottoman Army entered the remains of Szigetvár and fell into the booby trap,[6] thousands perished in the blast when the castle's magazine exploded.[29]

>From 6am to 4pm the French withstood repeated Ottoman charges. They suffered few casualties and easily held their square, but as the day wore on their ammunition ran low and the men suffered from lack of water and hunger. The Ottomans suffered substantial losses, but they could easily replace their casualties and keep up with good supplies and strength to continue repeated strikes throughout the day.

>Just when all seemed to be lost, and Kléber prepared for a last-ditch breakout towards the Jordan, some soldiers claimed to have briefly seen a military force advancing from the north. Kléber tried to verify their report, which could be a relief column under Napoleon, but he saw nothing but the open desert and a monstrous enemy force. However a moment later Kléber saw the relief column; at the first moment Kléber had looked, the relief column under the personal command of Napoleon Bonaparte had marched right into a dip. Although Kléber saw and his men began to feel relief, their opponent still had many times more men than Napoleon and Kléber together.

>Napoleon found himself between the Ottomans and their camp; he decided to distract them by detaching 300 men to pillage and destroy the Ottoman camp. This succeeded far more than Napoleon could have imagined: upon seeing the destruction of their belongings, the Ottomans assumed they were surrounded. In response, the Ottoman army began to retreat to the south and across the River Jordan. Kléber ordered his men to charge in a last effort for the day, and supported by the rest of the soldiers under Napoleon – who were relatively fresh - this charge transformed the Ottoman retreat into a general rout. Kléber’s men found their thirst replaced by an adrenaline rush, and the waters of the Jordan turned red with the blood of the Turks who were killed in the rout.

All Napoleon needed to rout 30,000 turks was 300 good men

people can say whatever they want. The muslim empire took advantage of a civil war and conquered the iberian peninsula in 11 years. but then those 300 hundred men defeated them in asturias. It wasnt just a battle. it was the last stand. Everything was under muslim control set pic related. And in that cave now rests Pelayo next to the Santina altar (patron of asturias). 200 years after that battle the few free christians had managed to push the muslims out of the north without help. 500 years after the whole peninsula was ours again.

Its true that the south of asturias has a lot of muslim heritage, its obvious, 700 hundred years of muslim control. But the moriscos (the muslims within Spanish territory back then) were eventually exiled. The south of spain is actually one of the most traditionally christian places of sapin now. Spain is not a muslim country as many people say. Im asturian, and i couldnt be more proud of our first king, but im also proud af my andalusian brothers arabic heritage, but that heritage is just that, inherit, we changed it in so many ways is 100% original spanish culture now. If only the spanish people stopped fighting each other all the time, we are like little countries inside a bigger one.

Anyways. have in mind that after covadonga and the 700 years of war. No one has more experience killing muslims than us. (not racist just historical fact)

Not a victory, but courage.... kind of:

The Charge of the Light Brigade was a charge of British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854, in the Crimean War. Lord Raglan, overall commander of the British forces, had intended to send the Light Brigade to pursue and harry a retreating Russian artillery battery, a task well-suited to light cavalry. However, due to miscommunication in the chain of command, the Light Brigade was instead sent on a frontal assault against a different artillery battery, one well-prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire.

Although the Light Brigade reached the battery under withering direct fire and scattered some of the gunners, the badly mauled brigade was forced to retreat immediately. Thus, the assault ended with very high British casualties and no decisive gains.

The events are best remembered as the subject of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's narrative poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" (1854). Published just six weeks after the event, its lines emphasize the valour of the cavalry in bravely carrying out their orders, regardless of the obvious outcome. Blame for the miscommunication has remained controversial, as the original order itself was vague, and the officer who delivered the written orders, with some verbal interpretation, died in the first minute of the assault.

The Crimean War seems to be one big "oops :)" for Britain.

It was France vs All Europe though
Britain was an irrelevant sidekike

Now, Brits are the ones obsessed with us (Agincourt, Trafalgar, Waterloo)
>>
>>51929221

France's entire existence is defined by it's love/hate relationship with Britain, don;t try to deny it, everyone on /int/ knows you frenchies wank yourselves into a deep and satisfying sleep at night thinking about us
>>
>>51929234
We only care about winning against the Russians and Danish desu

Though not a land force, it's quite an amazing record. She got 3 vessels with a single salvo of 6 torpedoes, 3 of which hit a fleet carrier, USS Wasp, to sink, and one wrecked a battleship USS North Carolina (took 3 months to repair), and one sank a destroyer, USS O'Brien. It demonstrates the horror of submarine.

>everyone thats young
In other words all the people that are worth shagging
>>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Durbe
This was pretty neat. "Civilized knights" in heavy armor got fucked by "a bunch of savages".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Saule
This is less impressive, because the pagan army was larger, but when you consider how hard Livonians got fucked it's still kind of nice.
>>
>>51929485

they were irrelavant to us after the 5th or 6th arse whooping we gave them

Horse archers are OP as fuck holy shit
>>
>>51929707
no we didn't we always out-people everyone in every continental settlement "engagements", in the americas & africa: only exception was india and when against natives (and not empires)
we literally conquered via pure population - similar to what the chinks are doing now
>>
Yes, that one time (two times) when Germany fought against all other armies in the world and won... oh wait, nvm.
>>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kircholm
Also this. The union was in such disarray by then that the Grand Hetman had to sell his own silverware to fund his army. Outcome is not what you would expect.

Shouldn't it be javelins tho?

Hitler lost because he went against the superpowers of the world

He's being sarcastic.

Except at sea, Britain was always up against superior numbers.

Little battles fit OP's requirements more than wars

It's ridiculous the portrait of the Spartans in that movie.
Demaratus was deposed and exiled to Persia by the other king of Sparta for prevent the imposition of a tyrant in Athens. In the Campaign of Xerxes advises to not subestimate the Spartans because even if singly they are as good men as any in the world, when fighting in a body they are the bravest of all.
He points that the main difference is that the master for whom the Greeks fight for is the law, and they fear it more than the Persians fear Xerxes.

1302 Battle of the Golden Spurs

Flemish army of peasants & handcraftsmen led by the Count of Flanders totally obliterated the French king's army and drove them into the swamps.
>>
Carausius, a simple Menapian from Gallia Belgica, allied himself with Frankish and Saxon pirates during the Carausian Revolt in 286, kicked Roman ass and became emperor of Britain and Northern Gaul.

Menapians, who were of Celtic stock, later mixed with Franks and took their language (Nederfrankisch, which evolved into Old-Dutch) . That is why West-Flemings still differ in facial traits and language from the rest.

Now, let's see what the Greeks have managed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Salamis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae
First Syrian War (274–271 BC) (Ptolemy side)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vandalic_War (Fucking Belisarius, this man was a fucking god tier general)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Constantinople_(674%E2%80%9378) (Mudslimes got fire fucked from Greek fire)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Dervenakia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Petra
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Gravia_Inn (This one's my favourite 120 Greeks, 6 Dead, 9000 filthy turkistans, 300 dead, 800 wounded, fucking savage)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vasilika
(The actual second Thermopylae, since it happened close to it and it was a Greek victory, plus the Greeks killed 800 turks, they were 800 soldiers, and they captured 220, only 23 Greeks died though, that's a pretty big difference in numbers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lemnos_(1913) (kek 1 wounded Greek, 41 killed turkodogs, and 3 ships destroyed)
In WWI Greeks didn't do much, so on to WW2
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greco-Italian_War (We raped the Italians with half the men, n' some shitty planes)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Crete (Germans had their shit kicked into them from fucking civvies, while the "commonwealth allies" keked itself into submission)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Metaxas_Line (Favourite battle of WW2, a germanophile kekfuck named Alexander Koryzis had surrendered the Greek forces that refused to surrender, plus only 25 Greeks killed).
That's all folks...
