Well that's what I thought as well but 30 unsuccessful interviews and tests (and probably like 100 or 150+ applications) over a period of over a year says otherwise. And getting an absolutely shit job is surprisingly difficult too - sure you don't have to put your real education or real work experience in your CV, but when you pursue that and meet the would-be employer you will quite likely fail anyway and they will be apprehensive, because a 19yo kid fresh from highschool/55+ year old lady with grown up kids will do the same shitty job while - unlike you - not being a risk of quitting a month or two later when they find something even marginally better. Well not that I have found anything, that's just how it seems to go when you try to get a job, as in any job at all.

I genuinely don't know at this point. I mean I can identify a couple of job applications where I am fairly sure I know what went wrong, like when I asked for a bit too much money, or when it was a very junior position, or conversely where I myself thought I would be in over my head. But I think that's to be expected every now and then and there's no pattern of me constantly applying for high managerial positions or asking for 50k or anything like that.
What hurts the most (apart from the whole 'having no job' thing) is when the job description is an exact fit for what I have been doing for five+ years. But even when I tried applying to fairly diverse jobs - or fields rather - I thought alright, it is always going to be difficult breaking into something different, because they will dismiss me, because I don't have the background even if my previous job might have been similar. However, at the same time I was fairly sure I did have the skils, hence my applications in the first place.
Which only made me angrier when, after finally getting lucky and getting a break in an "unrelated" field, the above did prove true. Because once I got to an interview and could show my skills, do some work, a test or something, I was good enough. Or at the very least good enough not to be dismissed outright. I mean just today, I got through those four or how many phases over the last couple of weeks, including two practical ones.
I honestly just don't know at this point. I don't smell, I'm not deformed, I dress appropriately, talk normal, most of the time I apply for jobs that as far as I can tell are largely compatible with - and similar to - my previous work, and on the odd occasion they aren't, there is some link between my skillset and knowledge and the job opening. It's not something terribly specific and niche, no underwater basket weaving bullshit either, there is a steady(-ish) stream of relevant job ads every now and then. Except I don't get them.

there are two indicators of a good teacher - kids who like him/her and kids with knowledge. The teacher with both is a good teacher. There shouldn't really be bonuses, the system should simply only accept the best of the best and reward them all way above average. Just as you wouldn't send poorly equipped reservists to take the most important objectives.
Along with that, society's view on teachers would have to change. Too many parents see teachers as enemies who want to break and indoctrinate their children with their bullshit
which, sadly, is sometimes true. I think in this case, the first step will have to come from the teachers, if parents are to trust them, but then again, poor teachers mean bad teachers and bad teachers don't stand a chance.
