since you're not EU/EEA this is going to be tough, your best bet is to come in on a study visa (check with the university first http://english.hi.is/) and from there get a permanent residence status and from there towards citizenship.

This is a norwegian medieval ballad, probably one of the oldest that exist in Norway. Its about a man named Heming, who lived in Norway in 1050 at the end of the viking age.
The ballad tells about Heming and King Harald Hardråde of Norway.
King Harald boasts that no man can beat him in sports but after saying this he gets informed that the young man named Heming is supposedly his equal in sports. Harald then challenges Heming to archery and skiing competitions. In the ballad Heming wins the competitions and tackle the king into the snow during the skiing. He afterwards flee towards north and is not seen again.
Heming and King Haralds meeting is known from the old-norse book Flateyjarbok and he has his own tått(story) in Hauksbok, called "Hemings þáttr Áslákssonar". In the sagas they compete in archery and swimming, when Heming win the king dare him to skii down a very steep hill, so dangerous that nobody could survive it. But Heming survives. It is said later that he joins King Harald Hardråde's invasion of England and was there at the battle of Stamford bridge.
