A reconstruction, all of the few Gerle's produced back then were destroyed in the war. One of them was rebuilt from the wreckages, but simply "disappeared" in the late 1950's. Go figure.
The Gerle is quite possibly one of the best aircraft ever produced in Hungary. From what I heard, it was extremely friendly and easy to fly; in it's first flight it immediately did aerobatics just after takeoff. I read an article about the maiden flight of the replica; the test pilot said that the plane was like it WANTED to do aerobatics (just like the original prototype) and it basically had to be held back from it.

Happened so much in the eastern bloc and not just with aircraft. And not even only in the 50s. BMPs made in Czechoslovakia were of higher quality than Soviet-built ones and that's their original design. You're pretty gut I have to say. May I suggest some useful tips? I assume you spend a lot of time on one picture and your figures seem a bit stiff. You can improve this by sketching very quick studies. Like max 5 min/full body drawing with pen. Stop erasing, and draw your line fluidly. Also I suggest you to experiment with different brushes and textures, some of them can make your picture like it was made by real life brushes.

And as an aftertought, you should play with your line thickness. If you use the same thickness all the time, it makes it boring. When you think of the perspective, use wider lines in the forefront and softer, thinner in the background parts. You can also use this technique to point out the meaningful things.

I really don"t think so - copying gives you nothing in terms of construction and anatomy.
Go on the internet and grab one of the hundreds of tutorials out there. Tons of them free. Visit established sites (e.g. cgsociety). Draw often. Every day.
It's a skill like any other. With time, you will get good. You don't need to have some magical talent. If you work hard, you will get good. Obviously maybe not the best, but good, like very good. Like anyone who devotes hundreds of hours to something good.
