Most trans people are bi so having to use gendered bathrooms shouldn't really matter. For them, it's all about fitting in with the placard on the door. There's no tangible benefit for a trans person using their preferred bathroom.

Why? Some of the oldest buildings in my uni have 'unisex' toilets, but all that means is that sometimes you're washing your hands next to a girl.. The stalls themselves are obviously private.
I think the only reason we have them is because the oldest uni buildings (200/300 years old) were originally designed without any facilities for women in mind.. So now we share.
