Vasiliy Polenov - Jesus and a sinner
This is a picture for Biblical story about people of Jerusalem showing Jesus a woman accused of sinning. He then said his famous phrase "Let him who is without sin - cast the first stone", and everyone looked deep inside themselves, realising that they are not perfect either.
The beauty of this particular picture is portraying Jesus as a man, and not a noble demigod. He's tired, he sits there beside the stairs and tries to think, when people bring him this woman. You can see the humanity in him. That's also the reason Russian Church prohibited Polenov's artwork when he released it, because at time even thoughts of Jesus as of a part man, and not complete son of God was restricted.
