Leslie Barns was supposed to finished early this year. Now it's being held off until 2016 for full capacity. YUS was supposed to be finished next year but that's also being delayed to 2017. YUS shouldn't even be going into Vaughan. It should be a closed loop at Steels.
Plus we used to have giant projects. Back in the late 1910s up to the 1940s we had massive projects like the Bloor viaduct and the Beaches water plant.
If there's two things I can say for sure about Toronto that beats Montreal is that I miss seeing houses with a yard and that there were nowhere near as many homeless people on Yonge Street as I see on St-Catherine here. Toronto is not the worst city in Canada by far, I'd side with it being one of the best, but I'd argue Toronto is not as interesting as you say it is.

Half of the town centre is basically like an industrial/work estate; as in, big office buildings, a car park between the street pavement and the building, so as you walk through the city you just have the road on one side of you, and an office block car park on the other side. It is dismal. And of course no one is walking the streets, because everyone is driving, and everyone is right to drive, because there is literally nothing on the streets. I was amazed at how bad it was. That part of the town, a fairly large part of the town center it is, too, is basically entirely designed for cars. There may as well not be a pavement.
