Do American cars have so bad reliability or does Americans just ship their worst cars to Europe?

Depends on the year, newer american cars 2004+ have really good reliablilty same with older cars up to the mid 80's. Any car between that will have questionable but again it depends on the manufacturer. I would drive a new GM or a new Ford but i would not buy a new Dodge / Fiat.

American cars are generally pretty reliable except for Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep. Those three brands are exceedingly terrible though.

Our cars are actually a lot better now than they were 15 years ago, but a lot of our best ones are trucks and larger sedans which you guys don't seem to like much.
