>India continued to harbour deep ambivalence about nuclear weapons and did not accord a priority to their production until the 1970s. In December 1971, during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the U.S. President Richard Nixon sent a carrier battle group named Task Force 74, led by the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise, into the Bay of Bengal in an attempt to intimidate India. In response, the Soviet Union sent a submarine armed with nuclear missiles from Vladivostok to trail the US task force.[20] The salutary effect of the Soviet response demonstrated the deterrent significance of nuclear weapons and ballistic missile submarines to then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.[21]

No, just sweet. The death of the Russian Empire and the murder of the holy Emperor Nicholas II and his immediate family finally got a bit of vengeance, the only unfortunate part is that the formerly communist roaches got away with it and are still in charge in many instances. It's still a major injustice that Putin has not restored the Romanovs to power.

People were euphoric about capitalism bacause we waited for so long. Nobody missed our colonies back then. Now it's just a nostalgia of people who're getting older. Everybody can move on. Please, keep your sanctions so our people were forced to make stuff by themselves.

Anyways, I think you're on the right track, Russia.
You guys just need to drop Putin with his powertripping and attempts at becoming a relevant global superpower through aggressive foreign policies and military posturing. Find a better leader who will relax border tensions within Europe, make some more trade agreements with the EU, and let that oil/gas pipeline money start flowing in.

The correct term is "fueling a civil war," and as much as you may disagree with it, the rest of the world agrees aside from your (very) few allies. Nobody for one second believes the "No Russian in Ukraine" line.
>It's like 1/1000 less military agression than US does.
U.S. doesn't have to worry about it's aggression, this isn't a "But the U.S. does..." kind of thing.
Russia isn't in a position to impose sanctions and cripple the economy of the U.S. for its foreign policy even if it wanted to, the EU/NATO, which is largely lead by the U.S., is and will.
If Russia wants to make considerable economic growth and improvement they inevitably need to play ball with NATO/EU/U.S.

>what could you say about america's actions in the middle east?
Nothing. I'm well aware of my country's actions, historic and present. The U.S. has sabotaged various governments and been quite the villain throughout the Cold War and into the present in support of its own foreign policy, the same as the USSR did and the same as any other major empire has. I'm also well aware that it has come back to bite us in the ass more than a few times.

That isn't my point, I'm not arguing morality or ethics.
My point is that the U.S./West has the upper hand in the situation and Russia headbutting against us like they did throughout the Cold War will do nothing to improve and boost their economy and the status of their nation because we'll just continue to impose sanctions, break trade agreements, etc. to stagnate them.

I know. We went over this, you need to learn to read into the argument.

It's not a question of morality or ethics, so stop bringing it up. It's that the U.S. can do it and get away with it because we aren't in a position to be "punished" by anyone for it. Russia, however, is not and while the Western world isn't going to "break" Russia, they can certainly make a dent in the country and be a pain in their ass.

and read what I said.
It isn't about who's "right or wrong," I know very well the U.S. has and does the exact same things we criticize other nations for doing.

The point is, as it was all along, that Russia, nor any other nation, is in a position to punish the U.S. for its transgressions in the same way that the U.S. is capable of doing against Russia. If Russia wants to improve its economy, one of its best partnerships is with the West, and the West isn't going to allow that until Russia eases its aggression along its border and relaxes its current foreign policy.

If you can't understand this by now and are still going on with the "But the U.S. did this also!" spiel, then you're hopeless.
>>

i said that your sanctions ain't working on russia and you ignored me
>>

The problem with the collapse of the USSR is that it has given US and Neo-Liberal capitalism unchallenged power in the world, you also have shock doctrine which fucked over the people of Russia, Central Asia and many Eastern Bloc countries also it has been bad for workers in Western countries, since the "threat of communism" always meant that those in power had to at least follow through with many promises and programs for the working classes, now the USSR is gone you see austerity everywhere and welfare systems stripped away as the Western world moves towards Chicago Capitalism.

The best outcome would have been a USSR that survived, but implemented "Scandinavian Socialism" and better freedom of expression like what Glasnost and Perestroika were supposed to do before the dirty fucking Poles and Balts backstabbed based Gorby.

>is in a position to punish the U.S. for its transgressions in the same way that the U.S. is capable of doing against Russia
and that means absolutely nothing. it's literally just a 'might makes right' attitude that permits for global tyranny, the thing russia is defensive about which is why they bothered interfering in ukraine

you've yet to explain to me how the USA is truly justified in what it does when russia isn't. i mean you can't be punished so you're the good guys, is that the argument?

In other words sergay is going to have to drop his ego, and bend over for western cock of "democracy" as they come to exploit their resources and people.

what you think russians are stupid about what the west really needs russia for?
>>
>>51086216
Not him, but Russia is literally trying to overturn the democratic choices of former republics. That's why it isn't justified.
>>
>>51086146

The average quality of life is far higher in those places today than it was under the Soviet Union or Soviet influence. That's a fact.

USSR actually had a HDI 0.100 points higher than they are now. It was a country with a very high HDI. (.750 is the average now I think while .890 was where it was under USSR)
>>
>>51086419
Immediantly after the SU collapsed the quality of life dropped drastically...

The Eastern Eurpeans were living off rations because of what happened during the 90s

capitalism is not that bad if you have strong government regulation. There are better alternatives because, come one, nobody here really wants to live in a soviet system country. Well, maybe third worlders yeas, but civilized people want to live in wealthy societies.
We profited a lot from being the extreme border of the American empire but thanks to fascism we were able to share wealth.
