Just because you liked a band at a younger age doesn't always mean that they weren't good. I've found that most people associate childhood with the music they listened to, and begin to reject that music because "muh maturity". People need to get over that insecurity. There's a reason why you liked it then, maybe for a long time, and to reject it because you're older and 'wiser' doesn't make much sense.
