Netherlands and another place I'd rather not say. I learned my English and Dutch from them which is also why I'm fluent in them.

What will you study? I would just pick the best uni you can get into. Memes aside, even the worst areas of Amsterdam/Rotterdam are pretty safe. In Amsterdam, just avoid Nieuw-West (muzzies), Noord (tokkies and muzzies) and Zuid-Oost (if you don't want to meet other Antilleans lel). Basically stay inside the "ring" (A10 highway) and you're good.

Eindhoven is kind of boring, but the people are really nice. Lots of tech jobs available in the area and rent will certainly be cheaper than in the Randstad.
I'm not sure which other unis offer that study here, but I assume Delft and Twente will too. Delft is a great little city, but expensive. Twente has a huge campus, so rent will probably be cheap too. The people there are generally more friendly than in the west (like Delft).

That was my problem in highschool, everything was so easy it's boring.

But in Dutch, this course is also offered in English it seems.
Theoretically, both programmes (HBO and Uni) will get you a bachelors degree. If you want a masters (what will you do with it?) the Uni bachelor might be a better fit.
In terms of time, Uni takes 3 years, while HBO takes 4. In reality 57% of students get their Uni bachelors within 4 years. The others quit or take longer. (See image)
A Uni degree will probably make it easier to get you an Architect job, although you probably still need some years of experience as a developer. Still if you're good at it, you can also become an Architect without having a Uni degree.
I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a developer job here. After I graduated I could literally pick the company I wanted to work at. Visited three companies and they all offered me a contract.
Next to Architect, an Uni degree might get you jobs like Business Analist, which pays more but it's quite boring imho. Only SQL'ing through numbers to maximize profits.
I think Uni is more focused on designing the software while HBO is more implementing it. The directives for assignments are bit more clear here. Feel like they are a bit shorter too. You get to see results of what you make a bit faster.

As for me personally, the start of the TI study was quite boring. Not a lot of background information or guidance.
Just a bunch of papers with the assignment, a shitty Access database and that would keep us busy for half a year.
I'm really not a retard, I graduated cum laude, but I really appreciated that the goals were clearer at HBO. Classes were smaller. Instead of classrooms with 200 people, classrooms with 30 people, some sessions 100.
I guess it depends mostly on what kind of study approach you prefer.

Well, it seems like the international curriculum is a bit different from what I had.
First year was a bit orientation, first half of it we got all 4 directions and we learnt the basics of it all like int, String, getters, setters and constructors. Also shit like media design, photoshop and illustrator. Lego neXt stuff was pretty fun.
Second half of the first year was first specialisation, we got to choose 2 out of 4 directions, I chose Technology and Software. For Technology we did Arduino programming in C with lights, buttons in the beginning, more complex stuff like fans and thermometers later. For Software was bit more advanced stuff like Collections and String formatting.
Second year was second specialisation and I chose software. Then this year + later years we got stuff like databases, threads, rmi, jsf, rest, soap, gwt.
You'll have to do two internships, the difference between the two is that for the second part you have to do research. Not sure about the English translation, but the first one could be a walk-along internship. Where you just join a team or something and you help out. Second one must be an isolated assignment on which you do research + you suggest a solution and together with the company you decide the next course of action. Research for this internship is more important than actual development.

Another part of the third year is a minor.
You can choose from a lot of different 'innovation routes' like Mobile (when I did it, it was only iOS and Android, but I told them to add Windows Phone, so maybe they did). Other routes are Security, Game Design, lots of other stuff.
For your minor you can also choose an unrelated subject, for example Spanish, so you can learn to read what these lads are saying:

In the classes you'll get fixed assignments which you gotta do. In the group assignments, most of the time, you get a case which you need to resolve, so you get a bit more freedom. You need the knowledge you get from the classes to resolve the case.
As last words of wisdom, when you start you should learn to use svn + git yourself. It was not in my curriculum, but they were starting with it, it will make a lot of things much easier.

Yes, depends heavily, per company and per project.
The big companies in the software business use 'detachering' which basically means you'll temp projects. (couple of years per project).
The project I'm currently on is mixed Dutch and English for the code, communication is also mixed because we got some teams of Indians as well on our project.
