So, I came across this flag when watching some of the PEGIDA demonstrations. What does it mean? What does it stand for?
Also, why is the german anthem so fucking great?

It does.

That's the Wirmer-Flagge, a flag designed by Josef Wirmer who was part of the resistance group around Stauffenberg who wanted to assassinate Hitler in 1944. That flag should serve as a national flag of a Germany after Hitler.
Although the assassination failed, it was still proposed in 1948 as the national flag of the Federal Republic by the CDU (Christ Democratic Union, a conservative party), while the SPD (Social Democratic Party) favoured the design we have as a flag today (which is the old design already used in the revolution of 1848 and the Weimar Republic 1919-1933)

Interestingly, the design favoured by the CDU in 1948 was a bit different (pic related).
I have no idea why the Pegida-fucktards use it. Probably because the authoritarian, still half-fascist state which would have been favoured by Stauffenberg and his pals would please them more than a pluralistic democracy. Fucking idiots.

Fuck forgot the pic

Also, your anthem is much greater than ours. I don't know any country that has a livelier, more passionate anthem than your country.

> red next to black
that's heraldically discouraged

a flag like this would be nice

Meh, looks too much like the old boring empire flag. You could just add two green stars in their or a cheap coat of arms and you'd have Syria or Egypt.

I usually dont like tri colors but this one is very pleasing

this just looks like a knock off of icelands

National Socialism is the only way for a country

You think so? I always thought of the Kaiserreich flag as rather uncolourful. It's just not as pleasing to me colourwise as our current flag. Or red, white and blue, of course.

U focking wot m8

Well spoken by a citizen of a country governed by half-Nazi dogfuckers

A colorful flag isnt always a good flag, that can look tacky or silly. The imperial German flag looks very stoic and I like the contrast of the colors red, white and black but it's mostly a personal preference. Your current flag is fine though
