All the major powers, in their folly, have enabled us to exist and to be great. All of Russia, France, Britain, Spain and Mexico have either lost, ceded, or best of all SOLD parcels to us.
It's hardest of all to make a claim on a territory once you've sold it straight-cash to someone else, since selling implies express consent by both parties, not under duress, without injustice done. Catastrophically stupid express consent from multiple old powers which enabled us to exist. >:D

There's some mid-sized to large cities in those states. And they're not shitty, again, those states have some of the highest living standards in the country. And I'd rather be white, have a large middle class, and low crime rate than be full of shitskins, unbelievable violence, and poverty, which is probably what your favorite cities are like.
