Not that guy, but it pretty much just comes down to having a good understanding of fundamentals. Knowledge of anatomy and gesture so that the figure looks natural. Solid understanding of 3d form, so that you can simplify anatomy more effectively. Understanding how light and color work. The answer to any question is pretty much always improving some fundamental skill.
