Infact, just youtube search vilppu and watch him draw. I promise you will be better for it then hearing it through some nerd re-hashing it for 70$ a piece
I think so, yes. Proko can be a silly fuck but he compartmentalizes the teachings of Loomis and Vilppu in an efficient way.

Different approaches, no reason not to listen to both. If you want clear instruction Proko is a lot more direct than Vilppu as well, not to mention his videos have actual production value. Very hard to follow along with Vilppu with the constant sounds of students shifting in their seats and coughing and flipping through paper being louder than his voice.

Yeah, you SHOULD read the source material, but that doesn't mean having an experienced guy give you his interpretation and input / put it into a more digestible format isn't useful.
Also I've never heard anyone make any implication he's any sort of pioneer. Half the time he comes up it's generally "Read Loomis but if you want a quick intro to his technique watch Proko's face tutorial because he summarizes it."

i like how he presents the material. yes it is mostly based off loomis and some other masters but he is a good teacher and goes straight for the point. if u find loomis' books overwhelming, starting with ptoko then come back to loomis later will give u more confidence and head start. good god i hated fun with a pencil but his other books are good. then i tried proko and it was more fun to learn but then i realised that he is not as in depth as loomis and skipped some techniques. but watch them as a refresher yeah
