It's easy enough to do but it's also against their terms of service. No image host allows you to use them as a CDN. The only option I have that won't get the sie blacklisted or break someone else's rules is either the current setup or to pay a lot more each month and have the site host the image

How is it different than what you're doing atm? You're embedding all submissions on your site on the submission page.

The site generates those thumbnails (or they're provided by the user), stores and then serves them to the viewer. The submission page links directly to the image/site and opens it in the tab so nothing is embedded

Here are a few simple truths.
When you start out, everything is going to suck.
Nothing's going to feel right and you'll be judging your own work constantly, thinking of how far away you are to your actual goal.
Know that it's going to take time, and you're just going to have to fight through being shit and having shitty days, and have faith in the fact that each minute you spend focused, disciplined practice, every deliberate stroke you make and every productive self-criticism you have upon reviewing your work is another step towards getting better.
This isn't easy. It's going to hurt. You just have to fight through it. Shake it off and discipline yourself to keep moving forward.

If you really are llbaffo, practice your line quality and/or pencil grip, and learn perspective. While learning perspective, start by using a ruler and then, move onto simple drawings freehand. Peter Han and Draw A Box are fantastic sources for this.

There's are so many great books, I have 58 how-to-draw-weebshit pdfs in my resources folder. Almost all of them are from various big packs floating around on 4chan.
Unfortunately the best ones aren't translated and most of the english ones are garbage like you say, but you could probably get a lot from them without the text.
Honestly the best thing to do is just emulate your favourite artist's style once you get some groundwork since everyone does it so differently.

I used to stress myself over making "perfect" pieces I could be proud of but in the end I realized it wasn't worth it. I still do those from time to time but decided to limit myself to one a month. I think it's much better to develop your skills by drawing more and more through iteration. In two years or so surely it'll have paid off and I'll be able to make those "perfect" drawings way more easily and with less frustration than before.

Not really, he just needs to know who, or a way for users to add streams themselves, but that's pretty open to abuse. Twitch has a good api for embedding, so that part is easy. A good system for how to dynamically add streams when someone wants to be added is the hassle part of this.
