'Mech chic' I love it, nice work
>>2387234
It's some of the worst design and linework I've ever seen, don't samefag please
>>2386833
Nice. When you're rendering, pick crosshatching or shading but don't mix both unless really know what youre doing (like when you're emerging out of the shadow).
I can tell you eventually want to paint (?) so just render instead.
>>2387237
lol im sorry i have different taste from you boy
I havent been in here forever, I cant figure out whats wrong with the breast shape. Shes meant to have b-c cup breasts.
I also dont understand why I put myself through the torture of drawing this
>>2387263
Different anon. You still have some fundamental drawing issues to work out so I wouldn't recommend using a stabilizer yet. It's better that you learn to work out the forms and a stabilizer would interfere. Once you have things down you'd be able to set a stabilizer not to over-correct things, before fully knowing what you need to show you might not be able to tell when it's messing up your forms.

how does it feel to know no one cares at all about your opinions? Like even if your serious you are so fucking retarded everyone thinks youre doing it on purpose.
So bitch about what you judge to be art or not. No one cares. No one will even pretend to care. Odds are you are just pissy because your art is shit and you just needed a way to justify it. "Yeah yeah everyone else is shit! not me! They are!"
>>2388503
>no one cares
>>2388335
Here is this better? Does this please you? Do you need anymore detail on a 15 minute sketch?
>>2388498
this guy reporting in. please stop ragging on digital artists. there's nothing wrong with digital art. it's a cheap alternative to expensive traditional mediums, and some people end up doing it long enough that they get very, very good at it. and that's fine. maybe not everyone on this board can afford oil paints and new brushes every 2 months and canvas and all that.
i mean i still pretty much buy the cheap stuff but it adds up over time, as opposed to a tablet and photoshop and then you're good to go.
also I'd argue that all the most important lessons of drawing traditionally can be learned digitally, even if it is more of a simulation than an authentic experience. people are smart enough to be able to extract important lessons even if the medium is kind of fraudulent ( which at the end of the day means it's not fraudulent at all)
>>2388510
you never mixed your paint either dumbass. You realize artists had this same exact bitch fest when tubbed paint came out right? "Oh its not fair! Real artist's mix their own tempera paint with their own pigments!"
You need to take some art history classes cus you are extremely ignorant. Art is directly connected to the progress of technology.
>>2388517
what are you even talking about now?
Are you seriously doing the "nu uh you are" childish debate?
>>2388517
Telling a rambling hobo on the street to shut up doesn't mean I actually care about what he has to say. It's just annoying and retarded.
Does art make people into hyper-crtitical tryhards, or does it just attract those types of people?
>>2388510
look at bob ross paint. His brushes are basically a cheat compared to actually digital art.
>>2388525
youre factoring the cost of internet and a computer. Which are already bought for everyone. If i had to pay for all the thousands of gestures ive done and all the times i colored itd be much more than my 100$ wacom.
You're choosing a medium is more authentic. I could just as easily argue digital is more artistic because it can be shown to the whole world and be preserved eternally, perfectally
>>2388526
lol what?
>>2388523
Art is a very personal thing. You spend most of your time alone painting things you care about.
So this guy thats rambling about digital art is angry because his doodles don't look as good as kids in college. Digital is the new popular medium so all these kids are more likely to use it.
So he looks at his art and compares it to people much younger than him. His art isn't as good as these kid's so that makes him angry. Rather than blame himself (like any good artist would) he starts making excuses. "It's the digital! It's making the paintings for them! They aren't real artists LIKE ME!".
Basically this guy is in denial. His art is shit and people much younger than him are much more successful. He just needs to accept the fact he isn't a good artist and the medium isn't important.
>>2388538
>Also, what do you do if your HD breaks? You account gets hacked, your work gets deleted?
Call the cyber police grandpa.
>>2388535
think harder faggot. Nosebro is annoying but he has a point.
There are certain tricks you can do with traditional art that you can't do digitally. The hairs and texture of a brush can paint foliage really convincingly if you use the proper technique. And there are some really neat brushes that can paint a detailed ruse in just a few strokes.
Then there is also watercolor which can't be copied very well on computers. A lot of unique effects can be done with traditional.
>>2388553
you are in denial. Of course you don't think other people will understand.
It's ok. One day you will realize your shit art is shit because you are shit and not because your medium is so much harder.
>>2388549
cyber police? lol
seriously, wtf will you do if your shit short circuits, your motherboard is fucked and nothing works? Seriously.
I mean, the same can happen to actual art. House catches fire, flood, hurricane, tornadoe, but then we'd both be fucked lol
Still, digital art, and digital artists. fuck that shit. it just aint real. it's like comparing real life to facebook life or internet life.
>>2388557
No anon, I said YOU missed the point.
Don't try to make my response general in order to save your ass.
You are the one going into the whole "your art is shit" which is what hacks usually say when their work is insulted.
I mean, technically, everything I said IS true and any traditional artist will agree. Anyone who has dedicated and worked their ass off in their work. People like you get mad and start slinging mud because it's all you have left in order to save face.
Much worse, you have never seen my work and still say my work is shit. Talk about being in denial and insecure.
With your corny and incomplete digital portraits. Keep "painting" and "drawing" anon, lol
>>2388554
THAT's my whole fucking point dumbass
That traditional is real and digital is a shit waterdown mimic in comparison.
>>2388553
why do you think people are angry? No one cares about your opinion. You're clearly retarded.
They are just annoyed yet intrigued about how someone can be that fucking dumb.
It would be like someone bursting through your door and screaming "THE MOON ISN'T REAL" and everyone is like "what the fuck are you talking about?".
Naturally his reply is "HAHA YOU'RE JUST ANGRY ASSBLASTED I MADE FUN OF YOUR PRECIOUS MOON"
>>2388565
Your point is that traditional is easier in some aspects and digital is easier in others?
That meidums don't matter as they all have their strengths and weakness and all that really matters is the outcome?
Cus that doesn't sound like the point you were trying to make.... That sounds reasonable.
>>2388567
Aww, someone is butthurt.
Your full moon just got penetrated.
PS, you still felt the need to respond, probably thinking, "I'll tell him what time it is!" faggot.
>>2388568
My original comment was
Yea, those portraits look nice...wait a minute, they're digitally done, damn, they would look better if they were actually drawn out, in real life. So i inquired if the artist only did digital or also had some actual drawings under his belt that he could share, that way, I wouldn't give two shits what medium he chooses.
Mediums don't matter if, say, you draw digitally, for whatever reason, and when asked to produce something real, like a drawing on paper, it is not a problem because you can. then no, medium is not an issue.
BUT, if all you do is digital (probably like this faggot >>2388557) then chances are, you can't transfer that skill onto paper, in which case, you are NOT an artist but a hack. OBVIOUSLY, this is MY opinion, but the amount of analpain in the responses proves everything I said to be true, because it seems more anons here are strictly digital and never really developed traditionally. And many are just posting incomplete shit. Like this faggot >>2388557
(lol)
>>2388586
You just keep putting words together in an attempt to come off as insulting?
I mean, fuck dude, really? is that the best you got to try to make me feel bad or something?
CLEARLY, you are just a bitch, which naturally means you are a faggot.
stfu anon
>>2388573
can you post your work in both mediums?
>>2388594
No, one, because I do not want to, and like I stated in another comment, I do not do digital work. I played with a wacom tablet for a few but it felt retarded and I had my pen and paper right next to me. Besides, I am still waiting, perhaps if I am indulged, I will re-draw that one anons portrait just to fuck with him.
why are you guys taking the fucking huge and obvious bait? c'mon niggas.

It's pretty obvious he's just baiting and going to post some dumb troll drawing.
It's 2am and this board moves at a snail pace so it might be somewhat entertaining. Probably not though.
>>2388573
>BUT, if all you do is digital (probably like this faggot >>2388557) then chances are, you can't transfer that skill onto paper
It's just wrong, man. Photoshop isn't a wizard's tool. If there's good drawing foundations digitally, it transfers over (or vice versa). There may be some short learning curves, but drawing is drawing. I've seen some of the best working illustrators that are old and work -strictly- traditionally, then pick up digital and crank out something great. Painting is another conversation, but I would argue that digital is more of a drawing-based media anyway. Digital has its own merits and flaws. You're coming on to a primarily digital board preaching about why it sucks rather than offering any semblance of constructive conversation. Why would you expect anything but analpained responses? It's just a medium.
And just post your work. Either prove everyone wrong and shut them all up or move along because you have little idea of what you're actually talking about other than recycling what you've heard other traditional purists chant. I've seen illustrators do incredible things with traditional and digital. It's all great. At the end of the day in illustration, all that matters is who's getting the jobs. And if they happen to work digitally so that they finish twice as fast as you would traditionally? Hey, guess what? They made double their rate per hour than you did.
Although I wholeheartedly agree with the other anon in here about digital work being a cheap forgery, I would have to say it has its merits depending on the use.
digital medium is the perfect commercial medium. My evidence for this is that many of the huge art studios in our time have completely replaced full traditional art teams with their comparatively cheaper counterparts who can bang out more work, quicker and cheaper. It truly is the medium of the future because of the ever expanding net of big studios wanting quick cheap work to squeeze another dollar out of us.
As a vehicle for serious expression... I have yet to see this digitally mostly because a computer is strangely human and is yet strangely not because its completely devoid of the characteristics to contain real humanity, so seeing any type of work on it seems cheap or fake.
One can see there was skill involved in the creation of a work, sure, even in the most faithful works, but they don't seem feasible because it doesn't actually exist in our world. I mean, if you print out a digital artwork it will always be a reproduction of a digital artwork and never the original. The gap in printer to monitor tech has not yet been bridged for this to be fully implemented.
>>2388642
He's probably not going to post anything at all. I don't even know what the fuck happened here. That bait couldn't possibly have been more obvious unless it was a box propped up by a goddamn stick and a carrot under it, yet it still worked. /ic/ what is wrong with you?

the digital one depicts the lighting situation of the subjects' scene more effectively than the traditional one, it's more stimulating because you get to sense the burning sensation of the bright light the subjects are under more strongly.

You render everything like it's a rock. The mountains are rocks, the clouds are rocks, the waves are rocks.
It doesn't look as ugly as beginner stuff usually looks, but it's ugly nonetheless. I'd bet you are a beginner who can't draw a person, but focused on rendering landscape because it looks easier. I would sugest you go back to the basics, learn form, learn about values, and start learning first on how to render people, and then go into other stuff like composition and landscapes.
>>2389302
I lol'd. Based mom is great, but this is cringey as fuck. Good job.
>>2389346
Yeah, the eyebrows are pretty askewed, but the biggest problem with this is that her torso is huge and her horse body is tiny. Try to ignore the back legs and look at how ridiculous she looks with these tiny front legs supporting her.
Also, her shoulders are too wide, and again, her "hip" is small, because the horse body is small, making her look manly

Not-quick study because I'm slow as fuck.

nice, she has a bit of an underbite?
i'd say maybe her ear could use a bit of an subsurface scattering
>>2388714
proportions and anatomy need a lot of work, i recommend going back to pencil and charcoal for abit, since they are the most forgiving of mediums.
also, can you please post the references you used so we can better help critt you.
i have flipped your photo for you so you can better see with fresh eyes the obvious structural flaws.
>i dont know why everyone is being so mean to you, you have potential.
>>2389526
Yeah, the ref has a slight underbite
>>2389536

Stop being so painfully bitter. Accept your shortcommings and work at it. I used to hate 3D modelling because I thought they had it easy compared to my digital painting. That's ten years ago. When I was 16 Yo.
You're just blaming one medium and generalise a whole lot of people. You actually shit on people. I don't like your shitposting. I can safely say I'm not alone.
The fact that digital art is fraudulent to you is just your opinion. I've been drawing w pencils longer than I've drawn digital. I have decades of experience. I don't frown upon digital artists one bit.
Your argument remind me of the older generation and their hate for tattoo's and piercing. Ignorant and outdated.

thanks for the crit. Is this any better?
DRAW THREAD
>>2386452
sad to see people that actually are drawing/painting/trying get buried alive by kids fighting over traditional / digital
1. please make a separate thread for that
2. real artists respect and try all mediums
3. thanks for sabotaging those actually working,
yesterday every few hours i checked the draw thread it was you children
shit post after shit post," that's a lot of time you've wasted"
had to get this off my chest this shits gotta stop.
>>2388593
I think people are just trying to give you a realitycheck seing as you clearly need it.
>>2389691
A little bit. You are doing this with colored pencil right? So there isn't much you can do anyway to fix the stuff I talked about, I just thought I should give a heads up for future centaurs. About the eyebrows though, I think doing this would make the face much better.
Thank you based Janitor

are you seriously bitching about someone posting art in an art thread on an art board. Are you fucking retarded? I have hundreds of "wips" that I have started. I don't finish all of them. Not my fault you're shit at art.
>>2389055

Literally do these on livestream. If I were tracing I think it wouldn't be a conspiracy in your head.

>>2388588
redraw cats face.
>>2390220
No, I hate you because you're constantly being a cunt. There are dozens of people posting art here all day every day. I never have a problem with any of them. I have a problem with YOU and your bullshit, which I am now going to hide so I don't have to be bothered with it anymore.
>>2390190
ignore the bait dude, holy fuck.
bzzzzz
>>2390098
yes, means you should study more
>>2390361
Nice bugtits
>>2390190
you're grossly misinterpreting what this threat is about little buddy. Nobody will suck your dick for your unfinished shit. And nobody can give you critique for your unfinished shit because it's exactly that, unfinished. Why are you being a thaiwanese cockgobbler right now and not take the fucking hint you dopey cunt. You don't even have the skin to take not even critique but the remark to finish your works before posting. You'll never make it out of your mother's basement So you might as well hang yourself now and save yourself the humiliation of being 45 and drawing anime chicks
>>2386452
So I'm like 20 minutes into this and it just feels amazing. So different to what I usually plaster together awkwardly. What's happening ???
>>2390496
it looks like your hippie friend paid you 25 bucks to paint it on the side of his van
when you where finished he said "great dude!" even though he thought the clouds looked like poop
then proceeded to pay you 20 bucks and some weed, even though you don't smoke weed.
you should study more, you got some legit criticism here
>>2390533
the thumbnail looks fucking awesome man
Is repetative drawing of Michelangelo's David Head useful?
>>2390361
You have a great style anon, I dig it! I know it's probably stylization, but the waist looks way too small even taking that into account.
>>2390536
so what youre saying is, smoke the weed and go to the beginners thread?
something
Finally finished this. Is the dark side of the animal ok in terms of value? I was afraid of making it too dark and black.
>>2390803
Neat.
>>2390827
Great effect with the glowing golden scenery. Maybe her neck is a bit too long?
>>2390533
This looks insanely good for 20 minutes. Seems like you just leveled up, anon.
