Beethoven

Mo just followed the trend of Music of the day.

Beethoven ushered in the Romantic period.

All his symphonies bellow the number 35 are average at best.

>Beethoven
All masterworks, except maybe the first.

I say Beethoven is the best, though I prefer Mozart.

Except Wolfie and Beeth are Romanticism

Mozart did have some great symphonies (29, 36 and 40 are my favorites) but he was better in the concerto genre (piano concertos 9, 16-18 and 20-27, Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola, Clarinet Concerto, Bassoon Concerto, Horn Concertos....)

Beethoven expanded the expressive possibilites of music better, but wasn't a very good melodist and his music has many clumsy and awkward moments. Late Romantic composers wrote similarly dramatic music with more interesting harmony and orchestartion and better melodies, where as nobody did the purely beautiful and graceful style better than Mozart.

Tell that to Mozart's operas, nigger.

Beethoven pushed music 90 years beyond his time, though. He's the illest.

25 and 29.

Have you even listened to any of Mozart's compositions?
>>
>>1310963
Yes
Boring as hell
>>
>>1310918
What makes someone a "Good Melodist"? Beethoven had some great melodies so I don't really see why you're saying that.

>>1310966
Have you listened to his Concerti or his Opera?
